On September 19, 2022, former United States Senator, David Harrington, passed away after fighting an illness. He had served his state of Maryland faithfully. NBC Washington expands on the extent of Harrington’s service, stating, “
Harrington served in many levels of government from state senator to Bladensburg mayor and retired as president of the Prince George’s County Chamber of Commerce.”
September 30 is David Harrington’s internment. In honor of his faithful life and service, Governor Larry Hogan has ordered the flags to be half staff from sunrise to sunset. All Maryland residents are invited to bring their flag to half staff as well.
