Governor Stitt today issued Executive Order 2023-05, directing all American and Oklahoma flags on state property to be flown at half-staff on Friday to honor the life and legacy of Deputy Jeremy David McCain. Flags should remain lowered on March 24 from 8:00AM until 5:00PM.
"I encourage all Oklahomans to honor our fallen officers by celebrating their faithful service to the public. The state of Oklahoma recognizes not only our brave law enforcement officers and their service to protect and keep our communities safe, but the sacrifices of their families and loved ones as well," said Governor Stitt.
An 11-year veteran of the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy McCain was honored to serve as a School Resource Officer at Oklahoma Christian School in Edmond for the last six years. Deputy McCain leaves behind a loving family, including his son; Collin Lincoln James “The Mouse” McCain; mother, Lisa Miracle and her husband Larry; grandparents, Barbara and Gene Erickson; brothers, Daniel (Jody) and Dallas (Danielle), and many other loved ones across the state.
